I found this necklace while bathing in a mountain stream on a hot day in New Zealand.
Everyone always comments on my chain when they see it, maybe because it is a little longer than usual. I think it may be designed for women, but I think it looks good on me so I keep wearing it.
Hiking to the Waterfall
I met some friends at a hostel and we decided to explore an interesting hike boasting a waterfall at the end. I love hiking to waterfalls, I like standing under them and feeling the force of the water fall on me, it is humbling experiencing the powers of nature. My brothers and I would follow streams and rivers at our grandparent’s house when we were younger, so I love seeing the stream that the waterfall comes from.
It was exceptionally hot on this day. We make it to the stream and put our hands in but it is ice cold, you can see the mountain in the distance that the stream is originating from. I decide we’ll dip our feet in to cool off, one of my friends dares me to dip my head in and after going back and forth we decide to do it together.
So we’re standing in this mountain stream that feels like on ice bath. We dip our heads upside down and because my necklace is so long it slips right off my head.
The Next Day
I went back the next day with some other friends to show them the waterfall and we find my necklace exactly where it fell off at in mountain stream!

This is the best image I have of the Mountain the spring came from
I have a video of the exact moment the chain fell off my head if you click here.
